SMART METER EMERGENCY – Again!

Everyone experiencing electricity interruption (again…) due to the Smart Meter contract mismanagement issue, please log your issue on the ERPA website at:

ELM Terminates Smart Meter Contract

See the formal notice here: ELM Notice 2019-08-09

This resulted in the Service Provider stopping all further support, which, again, drops the ball squarely in the laps of innocent victims – You, the law-abiding, tax-paying Ratepayer/Resident of Emfuleni!!!

Yet another example of how people in power can mess with people’s lives through irresponsible acts of downright mismanagement!

If you have not already done so, go and sign the Petition NOW! We cannot allow this to continue!

Mr. Nkoane, we hold you Accountable for the Smart Meter Debacle that left Thousands without Power!

Let’s take these executives to task… Send this link to as many people as you can, and don’t be shy, send it to your family on Mars as well – The whole world needs to know!

Flourishing Regards

Thank you Kobus and team for all your assitance. I am pleading for everyone to get onboard to assist ERPA.
We must get this sorted out by the courts and urge ERPA to create the account where rate payers can make donations to cover the costs. (Marius Erasmus)

Thank you so much for the kind words end encouragement, Marius, it is really appreciated. But watch this space, big things are in the pipeline that will turn things around, however, it will take time to undo decades of neglect.

Hi, Christina, it must be quite a shock to come back and find your house in darkness. ELM has done it again; complete mismanagement of the Smart Meter contract, and now everyone is impacted again.

All I can advise at this point is that you get to a computer fast, and if you have not done so yet, please register on the ERPA website so that you can log your SM issue, as we only attend to issues logged on the website. I’m sure you will understand.

    Gerhard

If I log a SM issue and you assist in bypassing the SM what will happen to credit in the meter.

    • Gerhard

Hi, Johan, Emfuleni stated that even though the meters are bridged out, meters will start registering negative consumption, once your credit is depleted, which will be billed back to the Consumer once they have sorted out their Smart Meter contracts.

  3. Marianne

    Good morning,
Thank you for your assistance. I have a problem as I am leaving on holiday this Wednesday and could not buy electricity . I have a qualified electrician that can bridge my meter for me but is now told that there is a fine if it is done through anybody else but the municipality. They will not be able to bridge my meter before I go , so what about my fridges . What can I do ? please help.

    • Gerhard

Hi, Marianne, that is quite correct, no-one is allowed access to the DP boxes except authorized personnel, with keys.

Have you logged your SM issue on the ERPA website yet? If not, I strongly advise that you do, otherwise no-one will know about it.
